Is September 17-18 marked in your diary as ‘Going to LRO Peterborough Show’?
If not, there’s still time to drop everything and join the fun at the biggest and best Land Rover weekend of the year! You can book tickets at the LRO Show website.
It’s the only show we hold, rammed with exhibitors and excitement that you simply won’t get anywhere else.
Hundreds of Britain’s leading Land Rover specialists, parts and accessory traders are already booked in (you’ll find the full list on LROshow.com) and we’ve selected the pick of the clubs to showcase the widest range of Land Rovers on the planet.
From Series I to the latest Range Rovers and Discoverys, you’ll see them all.
The show officially opens at 9am on Saturday morning, but make a weekend of it by camping on-site – and get a head-start on bargain-hunting.
To kick-off the event in style, the LRO team will be holding a ‘Sundowner’ on the Friday night where everyone on site is invited to enjoy a drink, a bite to eat and chat with us.
Camping pitches (typically 8m x 8m, suitable for caravans) start at £50 for three nights, including show admission.
Where is it?
East of England Showground (Peterborough Arena) is a short distance from Alwalton exits off the A1 near Peterborough. Postcode for satnav is PE2 6XE.
Or, just follow the trail of oil from our P38...
Improved Show Awards
We’ve revamped the awards we present to the best club stands and display vehicles at the show, to better reflect the most deserving recipients. The LRO editorial team will pick our favourite display vehicle for the LRO Team Award, and we’ll choose two Best Club Stands (one for national or single-model clubs, one for regional clubs).
But we want you to have a say too! You’ll be able to vote for the Visitors’ Choice and Kids’ Favourite, and nominate worthy recipients for the Long Distance Award (the vehicle that’s travelled furthest to the event) and the LRO Show Hero (someone who’s pulled-out all the stops for the weekend).
Make sure we know about what’s catching your eye by using the hashtag #LROshow.
Off-Road Demos and Action
Our legendary arena crew always stages the best off-road demonstrations, and this year’s Live Action Arena (Peterborough Arena’s speedway track) will host some incredible feats of off-road ability. Shifting mountains of earth to create a challenging course to test the country’s top winch challenge competitors is all in a day’s work for John Lawn and Flatdog – well, more like three days’ work.
We’ve had waterfalls, mud holes, bridges and jumps in the past, so expect even more of that this year!
When the extreme challenge trucks aren’t doing their thing, we’ll be filling the arena with adrenalinefuelled vehicles, driver challenges and much more.
The action doesn’t stop when the sun sets, either...
Don’t miss the spectacular Saturday night show, when the best bits of the day’s action get a jaw-dropping encore in the dark.
Land Rover is Back For More!
On the back of a successful and highly popular return to LRO’s show in 2015, we’re delighted to confirm that Land Rover will again support our Peterborough event, with a prominent stand in pride of place near the event’s visitor entrance. You can’t miss it – and you wouldn’t want to!
You’ll be spoilt for choice for star vehicles on the legendary manufacturer’s display, with the very last Solihull-built Defender, a pair of ‘before’ and ‘after’ Series Is from Land Rover Classic’s Series I Reborn restoration programme, and Range Rover Classics including a Velar prototype.
As this year’s display is led by the Special Vehicle Operations division (see p16 of the September issue of LRO), you’ll also get to see the mighty 542bhp Range Rover Sport SVR up close, as well as the £160k-plus Range Rover SVAutobiography Long Wheel Base, sporting a number of bespoke features.
Plus, there will be o.cial Land Rover merchandise to buy, and special guest speakers giving talks twice daily. More details in the upcoming issues of LRO...
Get Your Land Rover Nice And Dirty!
Show and shine is great, but… Want to see what your Land Rover can really do? We’ll have brilliant off-road tracks available to drive throughout the weekend, thanks to Vince Cobley and Pro-Trax.
Our expertly marshalled course, sponsored by Britpart, is a short drive from the showground.
With steep climbs, descents, axle-twisters, tight turns and water splashes, it’s a brilliant Land Rover exercise ground, and our nondamaging routes are suitable for all Land Rovers and Range Rovers – old and new.
Spaces for the 30-minute drives are strictly limited, on a first-come first-served basis, so make sure you book your session online before you arrive, at LROshow.com/offroad.
Activity subject to current planning restrictions. LPG-equipped vehicles not recommended.
