Where is it?
East of England Showground (Peterborough Arena) is a short distance from Alwalton exits off the A1 near Peterborough.
Post code for satnav is PE2 6XE.
Show opens at 9am, both days.
Making the Earth Move
Our legendary arena crew always stages the best off-road demonstrations, and this year’s Live Action Arena will host some incredible feats of off-road ability. J Lawn Agricultural and Flatdog are experts at shifting mountains of earth to create a challenging course.
We’ve had waterfalls, mud holes and jumps in the past, so expect even more of that this year!
When the extreme challenge trucks aren’t doing their thing, we’ll be filling the arena with adrenaline-fuelled driver challenges and much more.
The action doesn’t stop when the sun sets, either. Don’t miss the spectacular Saturday night show, when the best bits of the day’s action get a jaw-dropping encore in the dark.
See The Bowler BullDog First!
If you like the look of the new Bowler Bulldog, you won’t want to miss its exclusive appearance at Peterborough – the only Land Rover show of the year the Derbyshire-based firm is attending.
Our resident rally ace, two-time Defender Challenge Champion Edd Cobley, will be putting Bowler Motorsport’s vehicles through their paces in our Live Action Arena as part of a celebration of the firm’s history. If you’ve seen him in action before, you’ll know that means slides, jumps and unbelievable car control. If you haven’t, take a seat in the arena grandstand and prepare to be astonished.
Expect a supporting cast to include a V8 Wildcat, Edd’s 2015 title-winning Defender Challenge 90 TDCi and a 400bhp supercharged V6 110 double-cab.
Want to get even closer to the Defender Challenge action? Head to the Bowler stand to look at volunteering as a marshal on hill rallies.
Special Display by Land Rover!
You won’t want to miss the Land Rover stand at LRO’s Peterborough show on Sept 17-18 – the star vehicles and special guest appearances on the manufacturer’s display will leave you spoilt for choice!
On a prominent pitch, in pride of place near the event’s visitor entrance, you’ll find the very last Solihull-built Defender – a 90 Heritage Edition soft-top registered H166 HUE, a pair of ‘before’ and ‘after’ Series Is from Land Rover Classic’s Series I Reborn restoration programme, and Range Rover Classics including a Velar prototype.
This year’s display is led by the Special Vehicle Operations division, which means you’ll also see the mighty 542bhp Range Rover Sport SVR up close, as well as the £160,000-plus Range Rover SVAutobiography Long Wheelbase, sporting a number of bespoke features.
Polybush Range Rover Rebuild!
The Manic Mechanics are rebuilding a 1971 Range Rover Classic 2-door from the ground up all in the name of a charity expedition, but it’s nowhere near complete yet.
The Range Rover is due to set off on the Arctic Challenge 2017, a punishing journey that covers a massive 5500 miles and crosses eight countries, ending in Norway, to raise money for the RAF Benevolent Fund.
To help it on its way, the Range Rover will be re-bushed live at LRO’s Peterborough show, and given plenty of other jobs to prepare it for the gruelling journey. Head over to the Polybush tent to watch the guys get stuck in.
Take Your Land Rover Off Road!
There’s just no point in having a Land Rover if you can’t let it off the leash at least once in a while – and for LRO’s 2016 show we’ve got miles of brilliant off-road tracks for you to tackle, packed with masses of steep climbs, descents, axle-twisters, tight turns and of course the obligatory water splashes. All have been masterfully created at Yarwell Quarry by Vince and Edd Cobley of Pro-Trax.
The expertly marshalled, Britpart-sponsored, 40-acre course is just a short drive away from the East of England Showground, so you’ve got no excuse for not having a go.
It’s the venue used on ITV’s celebrity driving challenge show, Drive; anything Johnny Vegas can do, you can do better...
It’s also the perfect proving ground for Land Rovers old and new; and the non-damaging tracks are suitable for all levels of off-road experience, from novice to expert.
But you need to act quickly; spaces for the 30-minute drives are strictly limited and they’re on a first-come first-served basis. They should be booked in advance – so, get online and book your off-roading session at LROshow.com/oroad. Sessions cost £20 per vehicle.
● Activity subject to current planning restrictions. LPG-fuel vehicles not recommended.
