Everyone loves to use their Land Rover as it was intended – and they can be a great vehicle to get out onto the UK's greenlanes or to head further afield, overlanding like the pioneers did in the 1950s. Or to just trundle along to a local Land Rover event and swap stories.
Of course, you may want to compete off-road in your Land Rover, and there are plenty of competitive 4x4 events throughout the year, from tyro trials – where kids from 13 can drive, or you can use your shiny Land Rover or Range Rover without worrying about damaging it – through RTV trials (slightly tougher), CCV trials (you'll need a roll cage) right through to comp safaris and hill rallies. You'll need a competition licence for most competitive events – the Motorsport UK RS Clubman Licence is all you'll need for the many of the grass-roots events.
Alternatively, just head along and marshal the event – you'll get to do some off-roading and help keep motorsport alive. Although you don't need a licence to marshal, you can also get one from Motorsport UK.

Most options are suitable for all Land Rovers, from the earliest Series I through to the latest Defender – so if you have a Range Rover, Discovery, Evoque, Velar, Freelander, Sport, or any other Land Rover, you can get involved.

Please contact the organisers before you set out. Clubs often require you to be a member to attend, and there may be Covid-19 related restrictions for spectators.
