What’s the story?
Dave Harding is a creative chap and rather talented in ‘building something different’ end of things. We’ve already seen his awesome Disco-cum-Defender pickup and the space-frame off-roader. This time, he’s really pushed the boat, combining two Discovery 2 chassis with plenty of DIY coachwork, all finished off with a genuine Hummer grille and panel.
Our favourite bit?
It’s difficult to choose a ‘favourite bit’ but right up there has to be the driving experience; this thing is enormous but it provides buckets of fun to match. As usual with Dave’s creations, the quality of finish is excellent.
And the verdict from LRO writer Mark Saville?
On paper, the words ‘Disco 2’, ‘Hummer’ and ‘home-build pick-up’ don’t immediately suggest a happy outcome. But once you include ‘Dave Harding’ in the picture, the result is bound to be terrific. When you see it in the metal, it’s hard to remember that so much of what’s in front of you is hand-made in Dave’s workshop.
