What’s the story?
Neill Biggin and his 1955 Ford V6-powered Series I have been inseparable since he bought 30 years ago. It’s been his daily driver, not just a weekend toy. Following a smash in 2014, Neill had a battle with the other driver’s insurers but eventually, funds were released and the rebuild began.
Our favourite bit?
What we like most about this Series I is that Neill uses it everyday. It’s not a pampered flower, something to be treated with kid gloves, but a hard-working machine.
And the verdict from LRO writer Mark Saville?
More and more Series Land Rover owners are recognising the charm and desirability of genuine patina, rather than high gloss finished that factory never would have achieved. I think Neill’s V6 Series I is the perfect example of an old Land Rover that is clearly treasured but not valued purely for its potential retail price. I also love the V6’s per4formance.
