My grandad started the family passion for Land Rovers, and my mum had a V8 CSW when I was two. I got this ex-military 90 three weeks after my 16th birthday in 2011, so I was driving around on private land for 11 months.
Last year, my girlfriend Kate and I took a two-week excursion from our homes in Tameside to France, starting with a week at Glastonbury Festival. We slept in the 90, in a bed I built that went over the bulkhead, with all the kit underneath.
After Glastonbury we continued south to Plymouth and took an overnight ferry to Roscoff. We spent a week in the north of France, and the 90 was absolutely fantastic for the entire two weeks we were away... but it became an absolute tip in the back!
A few months later me, dada and a few friends stayed in a mountain bothy in the Peak District. The Land Rover made it no problem while a certain Japanese SUV got stuck coming out of the ford and needed a hand from the Land Rover.
I've also taken part in 'The Yanks are Back in Saddleworth' - it's mostly for American military vehicles but in recent years has seen a gorwing number of Land Rovers.
I've thought about getting some Wolf wheels for the 90, but I'd like to keep it mostly original so I haven't got any big plans. However, a Land Rover project is never truly finished!
